Barbican Modern Couples Campaign
Concept and design for Barbican's Modern Couples: Art, Intimacy and the Avant-garde exhibition campaign. Featuring some of the biggest names in Modern Art, the exhibition explored for the first time key creative relationships across painting, sculpture, photography, design and literature. The design challenge was to communicate that the exhibition wasn't just about the creative output, but a window inside those creative and personal relationships, from the obsessional and fleeting to the life-long. The idea of playing with multiple adjectives reveals the nature of the exhibition, visually tells the story and gives the content a playful and honest approach to what love is.
The systematic layout works in multiples of 2 giving shape to posters, banners and various other applications, reinforcing the concept and giving the in-house team flexibility to roll out the campaign across various mediums.
